Process

During my time with Equator, we typically utilised our Strategy team to create user journeys and information architecture.

On this occassion, it was my responsibility to create an in-depth sitemap that would allow users to easily find the content they seek. With a large, complex business structure, I opted to split product discovery into two boxes - product-focused for those who were new to TMHCC and had a particular liability need - and 'Business Unit' focussed for return customers or those who wanted to deal with specific teams.

Outcomes

The final product is built on an architecture that underpins the ‘business unit’ model well known by existing clients, whilst providing a clear ‘product’ based journey for new users, seeking a particular type of cover and/or unfamiliar with TMHCC’s model.

The business have utilised their new CMS component library to push content like their recent 50th birthday celebrations - alongside the clean and clear Business Unit pages that underpin TMHCC's operations .

Learnings

The complexity of the underwriting teams that make up the TMHCC group were overwhelming at first, so I knew we had to find a way to cater to new and return audiences in very different ways.

I often relish visual execution but in this project it was the stakeholder discovery workshops and information architecture task which I found most engaging.
